It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved Elvia Maria Guevara, who departed this life on August 1, 2025 surrounded by family and held in love. She was 72 years old.

Elvia was one of a kind, free spirited, full of life and generous. She had a special way of lighting up any room she entered, always offering a warm smile. She made friends everywhere she went with her social butterfly personality conversing with anyone and everyone. She dedicated her life to caring and loving her family. Whether it was through comforting meals, gentle advice or even her quiet presence, she made every moment feel like home.

She is now reunited with her loving husband Martin R. Guevara Jr. with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. She is also reunited with her son Joe Eric Guevara and her mother Anita Garza and her Father Joe Garza. Together again, watching over her family.

She leaves behind five children Marty, Denise, Anthony, Maryann and Ronnie. She also leaves behind fifteen granddaughters, thirteen grandsons, eleven great grandchildren and three sisters along with a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of her life will be held on August 4, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd. Houston, Texas 77075, with visitation at 4pm - 8pm.
