IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Stuart
Crooks Jr.
July 28, 1980 – April 26, 2025
Thomas "Tom" Stuart Crooks Jr. was born on July 28, 1980, in Shreveport, LA. From his first breath, he brought energy, humor, and a spark that would brighten the lives of everyone he met. Tom grew up in Texas, attending Klein Oak High School and later graduating from Seaborne Academy in Galveston. It was after his time at Seaborne that fate brought him together with the love of his life, Keri McGaughey.
Together, Tom and Keri built a life full of laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. They recently renewed their vows, a beautiful celebration of their 25 years of marriage—a bond as strong as it was spirited. Their love story was one of soulmates, partners, and best friends. Tom was also a devoted father to their daughters, Hailey and Macy, whom he cherished with every ounce of his being. He was endlessly proud of the young women they are and loved them beyond measure.
Tom was a bright light in every sense of the word. What you saw was what you got—genuine, bold, hilarious, and unforgettable. He had a fire in his soul and creativity in his veins. His passions were many and ever-evolving: MMA, Jujitsu (Team Tooke), dirt bikes, motorcycles, fitness training, archery, hunting, aquariums, and strumming the guitar. If it sparked excitement, Tom poured his heart into it.
Professionally, Tom found purpose and fulfillment in glasswork. A self-proclaimed "cold-blooded craftsman," he was a talented glazier, salesman, and entrepreneur. Over the years, he owned and operated several businesses, including Stuart Wallace Glass, The Glass Shop, and Structure Glass. He eventually came full circle, ending his career at Mirror Gallery—where his passion first took root and where lifelong friendships blossomed.
One of Tom's proudest accomplishments was achieving and maintaining 15 years of sobriety. His journey through recovery became a guiding light for others. He never hesitated to share his story, lend a hand, or speak hope into someone's darkest hour. His work within AA touched and inspired countless lives, and his legacy of strength and compassion will live on in the many hearts he helped heal.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Keri Crooks; his daughters, Hailey and Macy Crooks; and their cherished fur babies, Rip and Mimzy. He also leaves behind his parents, Debra and Paul Swaney; siblings Amber Dawn, Ashley Klumb (husband Adam), Adam Segovis (wife Kelley), Torin Swaney, and Luke Swaney; and beloved nieces and nephews: Liam, Lilah, and Jovie Klumb; Kasen and Brantley Segovis; Daphne & Rya Roberts, Abaigeal & Sophia Spillane, Owen and Molly McGaughey; Leo Serrano; Ryan, Makynzee, and Rhett Sinderson. Tom's presence will also be missed by a large extended family and countless friends who loved him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, William "Bill" Kyle and Ana Lee Kyle, who now welcome him with open arms.
A service and celebration to honor Tom's life will take place on May 9th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at WoodsEdge Church, located at 25333 Gosling Rd., Spring, TX 77389.
