Obituary

77 Years of Love, Laughter, and Beautiful Memories. With deeply saddened hearts, but also with immense gratitude for the beautiful life she lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Teresita de Jesús Loera de Peña, who entered eternal rest on September 15, 2026, at the age of 77.

Teresita was born on June 6, 1949, in Agualeguas, Nuevo León, Mexico, to her beloved parents, María de Jesús González and Alonso Loera.

At just 15 years old, Teresita met the love of her life, Lorenzo Peña. Their love story began in 1964 in Agualeguas, when Lorenzo arrived there for work. What began as a young love grew into a lifetime of devotion, family, memories, and a beautiful legacy that will continue for generations to come.

Together, Teresita and Lorenzo built a beautiful family that became the center of her world. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children: Marybel Peña, Lorenzo Peña Jr., Ricardo A. Peña and his wife Mónica, and Alex A. Peña and his wife Keyla. Becoming a mother was only the beginning of the tremendous love Teresita would pour into her family.

She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, whom she loved deeply: Kristen Salazar, Samantha Peña, Emily Peña, Alexis Santamaria, Erika Peña, Viviana Maldonado, Nallely Peña, Nataly Peña, Abiel Maldonado, Adrian Peña, and Nazly Peña.

Her love continued to grow with a new generation through her precious great-grandchildren: Adeline Reign Salazar, Santiago Rodriguez, and Lila Lanette Rodriguez.

But everyone who knew Teresita knew that, to her, family was never limited by blood. Her heart simply knew no such boundaries. There was always room for one more person to love, one more person to feed, one more person to laugh with, and one more person to call family.

With all her heart, she embraced Roxanne Juárez, Amberlyn Olmeda, Kassandra Olmeda, and Julian Olmeda as grandchildren, and Melanie, Serenity, Renesmee, Julio Jr., Leo, Xitlali “Lali,” Arabella, Ismael, Elijah, Isaac Jr., and Noelle as great-grandchildren.

To Teresita, love was what made a family, and once she loved you, she loved you with her whole heart.

Teresita was a strong, passionate, and unforgettable woman. She loved with her entire soul and gave to others until she had nothing left to give. She was like a ray of sunshine walking among us; her presence could brighten any room, and her laughter could put a smile on anyone’s face.

But no one should have ever mistaken her sweetness for weakness. Teresita was strong, spirited, quick-witted, and never afraid to defend the people she loved. If something—or someone—needed defending, you could be sure she would be there. Behind that beautiful smile was a woman filled with strength, courage, and plenty of fire. And beautiful, without a doubt, she was.

Teresita was truly a fashion icon in her own way. From her clothes and shoes to her beautiful jewelry, she always loved looking her best. She could shine before putting on a single piece of jewelry because that radiance came naturally from within… although, of course, a little extra sparkle and a few more pieces of jewelry never hurt!

She rarely left the house without looking fabulous and leaving behind the beautiful scent of Chanel. That was Teresita. She was also one of the funniest people you could ever meet. She always knew exactly what to say to make you laugh, and she had stories for days. Her stories, her humor, her advice, her expressions, and the sound of her laughter will live forever in the memories of everyone who was blessed enough to know her.

Teresita meant so many things to so many people. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, a beloved daughter and sister, a loyal friend, and a source of strength, joy, and love to her entire family.

Her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. Yet all the love she gave during her 77 years on this earth did not leave with her.

That love remains in every person she loved, every lesson she taught, every story she told, every smile she brought to someone’s face, and every family memory that carries a little piece of her.

We can only imagine the entrance she made into Heaven: beautifully dressed, surrounded by light, sparkling from head to toe, and carrying with her that unmistakable personality that only Teresita had.

Heaven gained a little more sparkle the day she arrived.

Although our hearts ache because we can no longer see her, hold her, listen to her stories, or catch that unforgettable scent of Chanel, we find comfort in knowing that her beautiful soul is now at peace.

Teresita de Jesús Loera de Peña was immensely loved throughout her life and will be deeply missed for the rest of ours. Her story does not end here.

Her story continues through her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her extended family, and every person whose life was made a little more beautiful simply because she was a part of it.

May we honor her memory by loving fiercely, laughing loudly, defending those we love, giving generously, dressing fabulously, putting on one extra piece of jewelry, and never forgetting to leave the house smelling good.

Until we meet again, Teresita. May God welcome you into His loving arms and grant you eternal rest. May the light you brought into our lives now shine even brighter from Heaven.

Rest peacefully, our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever our Teresita. 🤍🕊️
