Susan Royce Lee, age 75, passed away on May 7th 2025. She was born January 5, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan the oldest daughter of Roy and Faith Kent.

Susan married David Lee on March 10, 1972 in Oscoda, Michigan. They were married 40 years before his passing in 2012. She attended Michigan State University, Oxford, and The University of Missouri St Louis. She enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in various places including Biloxi,Mississippi Lakenheath England, and Las Vegas, Nevada during her years of active duty.

After retiring from active duty, Susan decided to serve in the Missouri Air National Guard reserves and she moved to St Louis in 1979 to work for McDonnell Douglas. She was part of a team that wrote the operating and repair manuals for the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle and the first stealth bomber the F-117 Nighthawk. She spent weekends with the Missouri Air National Guard working on fighter jets. Her unit was called up during Operation Desert Storm, thankfully the conflict ended before she was deployed.

Susan retired from Boeing in 2006. She worked a few more years for BAE here in Texas and retired fully in 2011. After David's passing in September of 2012, Susan moved to Texas permanently to live with her daughter Shantell (Jr) and her grandbabies Dylan, Elena, and Maren. She enjoyed retirement surrounded by her family at the ranch, attending all her grandchildren's special events, watching her shows, snuggling her cats, crocheting, and traveling.

Susan is survived by her daughter Shantell Garcia (Jr), her grandchildren: Dylan, Elena, and Maren Garcia, and her sister Jill (Kent) Baynes (John).

Susan was preceeded in death by her husband David Lee, her parents Roy and Faith Kent, and her sister Patricia Kent.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 9a.m. - 1 p.m. with a service at 11a.m. Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd. Houston, Texas 77075
