Obituary

In loving memory of
Ruth Elisa Ibarra Márquez
Aug. 4th, 1934 – Oct. 12th, 2026

Ruth Elisa Ibarra Márquez joined her Heavenly Father on October 12th, 2026.

Ruth was born on August 4th, 1934, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, to Vicente Ibarra and Manuela Márquez.

Ruth grew into a beautiful, caring, hardworking, and God-fearing woman. Her life was defined by her faithful Christian values, her strength, and an unwavering love for her family.

Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, playing cards and cheering on the Houston Astros and Texans. She enjoyed traveling, but her greatest joy was cooking. She found great happiness in gathering loved ones around her table, where she had a remarkable gift for preparing delicious meals.

Ruth endured more loss than anyone should have to bear, yet she remained a survivor until the very end. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a caring sister, and a faithful servant of God. Her legacy lives on through the family she raised, the lives she touched, and the countless acts of love and kindness she shared throughout her life.

Ruth leaves behind her six children and 25 grandchildren to cherish her memory; Alfonso (Susan) Guillen and their daughters Rebecca Guillen, Ramsey Perez (Mario Castro). Marianela (Joe) Trevino and their children JD (Ann) Trevino, Andrea Parker, Natalie (Daniel) Puls, Stephanie (Marc) Tellez. Myrna Guillen Garcia and her children Lauren (Ricardo) Manzanares, Stephen (Kristin) Garcia, Sarah (Steven) Silvas. Roberto (Suzie) Guillen and their children, Robert Jr. (Christina) Guillen, Aaron (Threcia) Guillen, Christy Lee Guillen†, Valerie (Russell) Gonzalez, Tifanie Romo, Stefanie Romo. Horacio (Michelle) Guillen and their children Michael (Nicole) Guillen, Vanessa Guillen (Mateo Williams), Jessica Auer (John Perez), Alfonso Primo Guillen, Ruth Marisa Rabago (fiancé Carl Joshua Toups) and her children Emmah, Ellie, Joe “Tre” Rabago III, Erin, Julia and Liam Weinman.

Her legacy continues through her 39 great-grandchildren; Camila, Anyssa, Joseph, Eliana, Madeleine, Matthew, Joseph, Samuel, Allie, Xander, Skyler, Savannah, Jakob, Sofia, Ricardo, Isabella, Cameron, Leah, Jackson, Savanna, Evelyn, Kaitlyn, Dazia, Sean, JoAnna (Rudy), Ariana, Aaron Jr., Madison, Savannah, Madison, Brenna, Payton, Releigh, Audrey, Gavin, Hayden, Khloe, Sophie, Baby Issac†.

Lastly, two great-great-grandchildren; Penelope and Roman.

She has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and joyfully reunited with her husbands, Primo Alfonso Guillen and Salomon Ibarra along with her five sisters, one brother, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her faith has carried her home to the Lord. The love she gave us will never fade and the memories we made with her will remain in our hearts forever. Rest peacefully Mami, Grandma Ruth, Grams, we love you.

Services for Ruth will be held at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Houston, Texas on Friday October 30th, 2026. Burial to follow.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who offered their prayers, kind thoughts and support, as well as to the many caregivers who provided Ruth with such compassionate care.
