Rosa Hilda Barrientos, born on August 31st, 1941 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, peacefully passed away on January 12th, 2024, at the age of 82. She will be laid to rest in her beloved hometown. At the age of 18, Rosa Hilda married Guadalupe Sr. and together they embarked on a journey to the United States, working as farm laborers in the fields of California.
Rosa Hilda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, known for her strong work ethic. Her children brought her immense joy, and she dedicated herself to their happiness and well-being. In her free time, Rosa Hilda took pleasure in cooking tamales, engaging in lively games of bingo, and cherishing moments spent with her family.
Horticulture was among Rosa Hilda's passions, and she found solace in tending to her home, plants, and small store, where she fostered a sense of community. She had a special bond with her two sisters, regularly visiting and engaging in heartfelt conversations with them in both Houston and Agualeguas. When in Houston, Rosa Hilda took delight in purchasing items to either resell or donate to families in Mexico. Her greatest joy came from seeing her family happy, and she often went above and beyond to ensure they were well-fed during their visits.
While residing in Houston, Rosa Hilda held a deep affection for her hometown, Agualeguas, NL, and frequently returned to reconnect with her extended family and friends. It is fitting that she will find her final resting place in the town she held dear. Rosa Hilda Barrientos leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rosa Hilda Barrientos is survived by her children and their families; Maria Guadalupe Molina (Jose), Rosa Maria Salinas (Jose Angel), Luis Orlando Barrientos (Aurora), Jose Alberto Barrientos (Norma), Michael Angel Barrientos (Melva), Diana Anaya, Guadalupe Barrientos Jr. (Janette) and her 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded by her husband Guadalupe Barrientos Sr. and her granddaughter Marissa Barrientos.
