Otillia Ann Gregory
1925 - 2024

Otillia Ann Gregory, age 98, was born December 14th, 1925, in East Bernard, Texas and passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2024.Born to parents Joseph J. Eicher and Justina (Olsovsky) Eicher, she was the 7thof 9 children. In 1946 she married Archie H. Gregory at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg Texas, after he returned from military service and together, they raised seven children. They had been married for 65 years. Together they enjoyed polka dancing and served as the king and queen of a group known as P.O.L.K.of A. in 1999.

Otillia was a very active member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and recently received an award from this chapter for 45 years of service. She was also active as a Eucharistic Minister and for many years brought communion to the sick and homebound. She worked for many years at the Mount Carmel high school in the student cafeteria alongside of her very dear friend Georgia Ann Ethridge. They were the cafeteria ladies.

Otillia's hobbies included crocheting, knitting, and praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 pm every day. She enjoyed walking and could pray the rosary as she made her way through the neighborhood at a very fast clip. She really enjoyed hosting her family along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren to Sunday dinner and especially at any holiday.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Justina Eicher, Husband Archie H. Gregory, Brothers – Henry, Joseph and Frank and sisters Mary, Rose Ann, Cecila, Georgia, and Mildred.

She is survived by her seven children Dan, Joan, Loretta, Irene, Josef, Darrell, and Donna as well as 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
