It is with profound sorrow, yet with unwavering faith in God's eternal promises, that we announce the passing of Nikolaus Mnkondo, who was born on November 29, 1963, in Muheza, Tanga, Tanzania, and peacefully entered eternal rest on January 12, 2026, at Harbor Hospice Facility, Houston, Texas.

Nikolaus was a devoted son, loving father, cherished brother, and beloved member of the community. He was self-employed as a skilled mechanic, providing his family with dedication and integrity. Beyond his professional work, Nikolaus was deeply committed to his faith and the spiritual growth of others. He was one of the founders of the Tanzanian Swahili Fellowship in Houston, Texas, where he tirelessly served, hosted many men of God who came to minister, and welcomed newly arrived Tanzanians seeking a "green pasture" in the United States. Through his mentorship, guidance, and hospitality, he touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on the Tanzanian community in Houston.

Nikolaus was a devoted family man who treasured his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved mother, Lucy Elia Muhondo; six siblings; his cherished child, Zwena; cousin Andrew Mnkondo and wife Tuwarose Mnkondo; nieces and nephews in Houston, Texas; and two granddaughters, one of whom he spoke to daily with love and care.

His granddaughter continues to ask, "Where is Babu?" longing for the video calls they shared—a testament to the deep bond they shared.

A service celebrating his life and Christian faith will be held on [date], at [time], at [location]. While we mourn his passing, we do so with hope, trusting in the promise of resurrection and eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.
