IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Wootton
November 8, 1949 – June 12, 2025
Mary Wootton was born on November 8, 1949, in Ashburn, Georgia to Arthur and Evelyn Pearson and went home to be with her Lord Jesus on June 12, 2025.
She married the love of her life, Bobby Wootton, on May 16, 1969 in Fresno, Texas. She lived in Arcola, Texas where she raised her family Barry, Chris and Robin. She gave her heart to Christ when she was 24 years old. Mary taught Sunday School for many years and taught more than a few of you here today. Mary was also a very talented singer. She sang for the Lord in church her entire life. Many weekends were spent singing with friends at what was called "Jam Sessions." If she wasn't singing, they were playing 42!
Mary loved pretty things. She was very talented at decorating and loved to decorate her house. She also made that house into a home where all, well most, were welcome. Mary loved to fish and to spend time at the lake with good friends. Many of Chris and Robin's childhood memories are of time at the lake with the Hoffords. That tradition carried on with her grandkids spending many vacations at the lake with them.
Mary loved animals, rescuing or feeding every stray she could. She enjoyed spending time watching God's little critters, the birds and squirrels she fed outside her window. Mary was a very strong woman with her own opinions. She was always willing to share her views on politics or her love for Jesus. Mary truly had a giving heart. She was willing to do without herself to give to the needs of others. Mary loved her family until it hurt. She was always there to give a hug, a word of encouragement, feed you a meal, or a stern word of correction if needed.
Most of all, Mary loved Jesus. We know she now looks upon the face of her Savior and many of you here are heaven bound because of her prayers and faithfulness. And now if anyone is taking too long in line to see Jesus, somewhere in the back of the line her voice can be heard yelling, "MOVE IT LADY."
She was preceded in death by her Parents Arthur and Evelyn Pearson, Son Jared Scott Wootton, unnamed child before birth, Son Barry Wootton and Grandson Jayden Wootton. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Bobby Wootton, son Chris Wootton and wife Gina, daughter Robin Conway and husband Danny. Grandchildren; Cody, Crystal, Nickolas, Megan, Lindsay, Zachary and wife Coryn, Jaycob, Lauren, Samuel, Eva, and Madisen. Great grandchildren; Braxton, Emery, Zachary and Raelynn. Sister Judy Hawkins and husband Don. Brother Tony Pearson and wife Marsha. Her loving pets Bexley, Laken, and Fluffy and numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
