María was a faithful devout catholic, her last days were spent with a rosary in hand.As entrepreneurial woman, she inherited the fondness of commerce from her parents which lead her to have a small store and even a place where she shared her culinary skills with others. She was known for her delicious mole, menudo, gorditas, enchiladas, quesadillas, pork stew, and the famous "huevos dormidos, sleeping eggs", a dish that is still currently prepared by one of her daughters and her granddaughters in the mountainous region near Leon, Guanajuato known as "La Sierra de Lobos".Her fascination during each of her visits with the United States eventually lead her to live in the country permanently with her husband and some of her children. She will be remembered for her sayings, her love of life, family, and music, her elaborate knittings and crochets, her affinity for jewelry and not to mention, the love of Chinese food.In her heart, her children were the most valuable thing in life. She always had them in her prayers and would send the customary blessing to them regardless of their distance. She would always express how proud she was of each of them. With her acts of charity, she had the hope that God would take these into account so that they could be turned into blessings for her children that were far away: she would say, "maybe someone will give my sons, that are alone working in "el Norte", a taco".All of her life's lessons the most valuable inheritance she leaves for her family.
