Lydia Soto
Acree
Oct 19, 1938 — Aug 28, 2026
League City
Lydia Soto Acree, age 87, was reunited with her parents, Julio M. Soto and Angelita Chapa Soto; her sisters, Juanita S. Amador, Angelita S. Madrid, Jubenita S. Castro, and Lucio Soto; her sons, Raul S. and Domingo S. Manriquez; and two grandchildren, Fransisco and Sarah Manriquez, in Heaven on Friday, August the 28th, 2026.
She was born on October 19th, 1938, in what was called Three Points, TX. near Austin, TX. Lydia was a devoted Christian and a loving mother, grandmother, and great and great-grandmother. She was someone who gave everything she had for the people she loved. In her home, she welcomed everyone with kindness. She had a generous and giving heart and was always willing to help her children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need in whatever way she could. She found her greatest happiness in having her family together and creating memories that will be cherished forever. Lydia was the heart and soul of her family. She loved to cook and lovingly taught her children and grandchildren how to prepare many of their favorite Mexican dishes. Through her words and actions, she taught the importance of forgiveness, compassion, and unconditional love. Her strength, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family created a legacy that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law; Frances S. Manriquez and Michelle Escobedo and husband Tony. One sister, Lina Madrid and husband Regino. One brother, Julio Soto Jr. She was very blessed with 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
We find comfort in knowing exactly where she is. She has returned to the loving arms of her Savior, where she now rests in His eternal peace, hearing the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel located at 8706 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, TX. 77075. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. She was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
