Luis "Louie" Llano Rodriquez
August 12, 1955 - July 5, 2023

Luis (Louie) Llano Rodriquez, 68 of Alvin, Texas, died on July 5, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1955 in Las Villas, Cuba to Luis Osvaldo Llano Dominguez and Maria Teresa Rodriguez. Luis and Maria immigrated from Spain to Cuba where Louie was born, and then to New York from Cuba in July 1963.

Louie graduated from Richmond Hill High School in New York in June of 1974. He then joined the U.S Air Force on June 25, 1975 in Fort Hamilton, N.Y. He later re-enlisted as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Operator. He was a Licensed Radio Operator, certified through the Federal Communications Commission in New York from 11/13/1979 to 11/13/1984.

During that time he then to moved to Pensacola, Florida and became a naturalized citizen on February 7, 1978. He attended the Technical Care Institutes and attained the necessary 1680 hours to complete The Electronics Circuits and System Program on May 22, 1982. He attained the rank of Sargent February 23, 1981 and was then released from Travis Air Force base in California in 1984 with an honorable discharge.

Louie worked for Lockheed Martin Aerospace for ten years, and then went to Boeing where he worked from 1994 to 1999. Louie left Boeing for NASA, and worked there from 1999 to 2001.

Then Louie followed his dream and opened Relic Cycles in Alvin, Texas where he worked on motorcycles and ran his own shop. He lived out his final days doing what he loved, working on and riding vintage British motorcycles.

He is survived by his sister Maria Llano.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Barwash, in Alvin, Texas at 2:00 P.M. on Louie's Birthday, Saturday, August 12, 2023. Family, friends and customers of Relic Cycles are all invited to attend and share stories and their memories of Louie.
