Obituary

Keith Patrick McDonald, 59, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025. The devoted husband, proud father and loyal friend leaves behind his wife of 29 years, his adult son and his broad family of both given and chosen family members.

Born April 1, 1966, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Arthur and Jacquel McDonald, Keith moved to Texas as a toddler and first settled in the Dallas Metroplex. This energetic boy with an infectious smile, spent his elementary and middle school years with a fishing pole in one hand and a pair of roller skates in the other, all the while trying to keep up with his two older brothers.

His move to Kingwood, TX at the age of 14, formed 45 year friendships with his extended "chosen" family that helped Keith establish permanent roots in the Houston suburbs. One "family" member recently commented, "The best thing about chosen family is when the kids legitimately don't know we aren't ACTUALLY related."

Keith graduated from Kingwood High School and proudly earned his Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics License. His A&P License sparked his passion for safety and ignited  a work ethic that proved Keith could not and would not allow anything to remain broken on his watch. His commitment and hard work earned him an Excellence in Safety Award in 1988 from PHI Aviation, LLC.

During these years, his mother was instrumental in planting the seed for the computer career he would embrace for 45+ years. Beginning as his mom's "hardware technician," Keith learned to pull apart and rebuild refurbished computers. His success in working through each computer like a puzzle, sparked his entrepreneurial spirit and his own business emerged. From self-employed to desktop support to network engineer, Keith was able to establish his mark in the world of information technology which allowed him to be a loyal and committed provider for his family.

After years of searching, Keith found yet another chosen family when he joined Accentwire in 2012. This family-owned company saw that "I.T. Keith" was going to not only successfully manage every aspect of the company's technology infrastructure, but he was going to ensure that "anything that could plug into an outlet" was not a match for him. From the Afternoon Office Popcorn Maker, to the Dog Treat Supplier in Headquarters to his newest title of Director of Infrastructure Information Technology, Keith became the "one stop" shop for the ever-evolving company of Accent.

The root of his success was also his proudest accomplishment. As a dedicated husband and father, Keith enjoyed a variety of hobbies, which he seemed to keep on constant rotation - dancing, fishing, billiards, classic cars, guitars, live music enthusiast and professional groupie, skilled "dog whisperer", and weekend road tripper. Keith's hobbies were always a family affair and included many adventures that created a close bond with his family. And for those of you that know, "That WAS a plus!"

Keith will be forever missed and remembered for his generous, faithful and God-loving presence. Those that truly knew him, loved him.  For those he knew for years or just a few moments, Keith will be remembered for his passion for life, his love for Christ, his commitment to family and a hope that he would make the world a better place.

Survivors include his wife, Sheri McDonald of Spring; his son, Dylan McDonald of Spring; his brother, Scott McDonald (Carol) of Plano; his brother, Todd McDonald of Michigan; nephews - Chris and Jon, nieces - Jaclyn, Ashley, and Emma; his cat, Tiger, and his beloved Border Collie puppies, Summer and Scout.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur McDonald, his mother, Jacquel McDonald; his cat, Cleo, his Schnauzers - Keli and Duncan, and his rescue dog, Bailey.
