Obituary

Juan Camarena, Husband, Father, Popo, Brother and Uncle went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2024. JC, as he was fondly named, was born November 17, 1944, in the city of Iago, TX. JC was the baby of 7 children from a blended family of Teofanes Camarena and Maria Ortiz Camarena.

Juan (JC) was born and raised in Boling, TX. He was the true definition of "Good Ole Country Boy". He picked cotton, rode the combine, worked hard, and gave more than he asked for.

Juan (JC), was drafted to the US ARMY in September of 1965, where he proudly served as an Army Medic during the Vietnam War. His tour ended in October of 1967 and was Honorably discharged in September of 1971.

Juan (JC) went on to work for United Gas and ultimately became a welder for Bludworth and Bond Shipyard, Juan (JC) married Guadalupe Rivera, of South Houston, TX in 1968 and had 3 loving daughters. Lupita, Delores, and Rita. They resided in South Houston, Texas. Juan (JC) was a "jack of all trades", loved spoiling his daughters, grandkids and great grandkids. He loved to play cards, dominoes, bar-b-que for family and the biggest "storyteller/jokester".

Juan (JC) is preceded in death by his parents Teofanes and Maria Camarena, wife Guadalupe R. Camarena and many loved ones.

Juan (JC) is survived by his loving girls Lupita Camarena, Delores C. Lozano (Rene), Rita Camarena; Sister Mamie "Manuelita" Silvas. 7 Grandchildren: Xavier, Missy, Gabby, Esteven, Devin, RayRay, Daisha plus 12 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends that loved him dearly.

On behalf of "His Girls", we would like to give a special thanks to Yolanda, Josue and Darwin who loved and cared for our father as their own. Their family also came to know and love our father as well. We'd also like to give a special thanks to my mom's brother Margarito Rivera "Tio TinTan" for always being available to take Dad on his appointments, visits, food and all around just being there for him and Us while we worked even after our mom's passing only 15 months ago.

In closing, us girls would like to thank you all for the prayers and thoughtful words during this difficult time, but most importantly for loving our father as you all did.

Love and Prayers to you all, The Camarena Girls - Lupita, Delores, and Rita
