IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joe Alfred
Terry Sr.
January 26, 1949 – January 14, 2026
On January 26, 1949, Joe Alfred Terry Sr. was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on January 26, 1949, to Mr. & Mrs. Ernest & Fannie (Katherine) Terry. Joe accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and baptized a second time as an adult under the partnership of Pastor Roy Love here at Praise Chapel Church. He graduated from Lake County High School in Tiptonville, Tennessee. After high school he attended Vocational School in Newbern, Tennessee and studied drafting. Joe then served in both United States Marines and Navy. He was a great correction officer, leader and supervisor. Joe not only served his country well but, he also served his God. God called him to serve by following Christ's example of humility, putting others (especially his family) before himself. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and brother to family and to others. He took time out with young children, never passing up the opportunity to witness to them about the Lord Jesus Christ wherever he went.
Joe Alfred Terry Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Fannie (Katherine) Terry, his brother, Rickey Terry and his grandson James Phillips. On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the angels were waiting at Heaven's gates to welcome Joe to his heavenly home. Joe now leaves the following to cherish his memory: Devoted Wife… Rosa O.
