Obituary

Our beloved son, Jeremy Michael Rivas, affectionately known as "Guero", passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 30. Jeremy was born on December 24, 1994, and made his home in Houston, Texas.

Jeremy proudly served his country as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Japan aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. His time in Japan sparked his adventurous spirit, and he took every opportunity to travel and experience places that most only dream of visiting.

After his military service, Jeremy pursued higher education at San Jacinto College, majoring in Sociology and Theology. His goal was to become a social worker, dedicating his heart and talents to helping the less fortunate and those in need. Jeremy's compassion, kindness, and selflessness were the foundation of who he was.

He had a zest for life and embraced it fully. He loved music, skateboarding, traveling, and never turned down a slice of cherry pie. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, when family gathered together in joy—a reflection of what he valued most. Jeremy had an incredible gift for conversation; he never met a stranger and could connect with anyone, whether through thoughtful debates or sharing stories of his travels through Japan, Mexico, and South America.

Jeremy was a devoted big brother who loved and protected his siblings fiercely. He was deeply proud of them and never missed a chance to lift them up with encouragement and love. To his friends, he was loyal, dependable, and a true source of warmth—someone you could always count on.

His bright smile, gentle nature, and boundless heart will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jeremy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and genuine connection that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have shared life with him.
