Obituary

Our beloved father Jeffery Gerard Budden, 61, of Houston, TX went to his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2024.

Jeff was born to parents Dick and Kay Budden on November 4, 1962. He grew up as an adventurous farm boy in Hazel Green, Wisconsin with a brother and two sisters. Jeff graduated from Southwestern High School in 1981 and directly joined the Army. He served his country faithfully from 1981 - 1987. Jeff then pursued business endeavors and settled down in Houston to raise a family.

Jeff enjoyed semi-annual family road-trips to Wisconsin. He looked forward to the fishing trips with his dad and brother and helping his mother with anything she wanted. He had to make up for often making her a nervous wreck by his escapades like jumping over cricks with his motorcycle as a teen.

If you knew Jeff, his vivacious personality was best expressed as one who liked classic rock and karaoke. He was a trivia king, a movie buff, a mega Nascar fan and appreciated all things; planes, trains and automobiles. He had a great sense of direction and a knack for carrying good conversation. Jeff is one of a kind. He held many titles in his life, from veteran to devout patriot, entrepreneur to gardener, but his favorite role was being a father. He was so proud of his kids and shared recently that he was fulfilled knowing his children knew Jesus as their savior.

Despite spending the last month in the hospital, his charisma and wit didn't skip a beat. He cracked jokes and generously shared faith bracelets with everyone who came by. Jeff had a great ability to make others smile, make friends easily and his sense of humor will sorely be missed. While Jeff left us far too soon, the impact he had on his loved ones will be held close to everyone's hearts, until we meet again in glory.

Jeff is survived by his parents Dick and Kay Budden; daughter Natalie; son Nathan and his wife Allison and grandchildren Luke and Harper; daughter Sarah and her husband Sherofi and grandchildren Quincy and Kzyion; daughter Marilyn and granddaughter Ellie; and son John. He is also survived by his brother Jackie Budden and wife Rene; sisters Kelly Kemp and husband Don; Kristine Roelli and husband Christopher as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you make contributions to our memorial fund in lieu of flowers and contribute by sharing memories of our beloved father and friend on the memorial website.

Jeff's family will host a funeral service on May 8, 2024 at 10 a.m. located at, Forest Lawn Funeral Home Inc., 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd., Houston, TX 77075. Burial to follow at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
