Devoted brother, uncle, and follower of the Lord.
March 8, 1938 - November 9, 2021
James Richmond Cobb, 83, departed this life on Tuesday, November 9th 2021 in Houston, Texas from a long battle with illness with his family and friends by his side.
James was born March 8th 1938 in Leavenworth, Kansas to father Roy Homer Cobb and mother Katherine Elizabeth Ehart, who passed away during childbirth. Roy would later marry Jewel Cobb who lovingly raised James as her own.
In 1958 James graduated from Pasadena High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from February 1961 to January 1965 as an Airman 1st Class. He received a medal for good conduct. After serving honorably, James went to college and received an associates degree of arts from San Jacinto College in 1974.
James was a devoted and active member of Sagemont Church. He also enjoyed his time traveling with family and friends, enjoying the Houston Astros and hosting family gatherings on holidays at his home, especially his yearly memorial day bar-b-que.
James is survived by his nephew Doyle Kling and his son Robert; great niece Kimberly Pope and husband William Pope; great, great niece and nephews Kaitlyn Pope, Cameron Pope, Kyle Pope and wife Emilee Pope and daughter Elaura Pope, Charles Pope and wife Kelli Pope, son Draik Hickok, Daughter Raegan O'Malley and Devin Pope; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by father Roy and mothers Katherine and Jewel; brother Butch and sisters Vera and Margaret; and niece Barbara.
James will especially be remembered for his loving, caring, and generous spirit that served to strengthen everyone he knew and loved.
