James Carl Lott, 84, peacefully transitioned on February 28, 2026
James Carl Lott was the first of 6 children born on July 15, 1941, to late Mr. Vernon Lott & Mrs. Bertha Mae Mckenzie Lott in Cologne, Texas. James at an early age excepted Christ and was baptized into the Faith. His siblings who have preceded him in death are brothers Eugene Lott, Michael Lott, and Charles Lott. James is also survived by brother Elvis L. Lott (Nadean Lott) of Houston, Texas and sister Betty Jean Henderson of Bossier City, LA.
James graduated from F.W. Gross High School with the Class of 1960 in Victoria, Texas. After graduation, he attended Texas Southern University for 2 1/2 years. As an active member of his High School Alumni Committee, James would attend the reunions every year which was his heartbeat to living amother year. He would always say even if he couldn't stand for log periods of time or had to drive himself, he was going to be at the reunions to be accounted for in the fellowship.
On April 16, 1981, James met the love of his life and married Norzell (Jones) Lott. To this union a beautiful daughter was born. Jamie Cherie Lott-Houston, Texas. In addition to this union, James raised, loved, and cared for his stepchildren: son-Shannon Odell Jones (Tammy Brown) and daughter- Voloria Ann Hendricks (Tony Hendricks) who are left to cherish his memory.
During his career, James worked for Grant Supply Co until he retired in 1985. After retiring James did some part time security with various companies.
To cherish his memory, James leaves: grandchildren: Jessica Minor, Kayla Jones, Sterling Jones, Ivy Jones, Jonathon Hendricks: Great-grandchildren: Jade Minor, Jenesis Minor, Janiyah Minor; In-laws: Audrey Lott, Nora Lott and Cleo Henderson; along with a host if nieces.
