IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ihemegbulam Dixon
Nwaji
April 15, 1955 – January 21, 2026
Engr. Ihemegbulam Dixon Nwaji, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 21, 2026. He was the youngest of his siblings and was born on April 15, 1955, in Nigeria.
In 1975, he moved to Illinois, where he attended Illinois State University and earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Civil Engineering. Dixon remained in Illinois and had a successful career as an engineer with the Environmental Protection Agency, where he served with dedication and excellence for 30 years until his retirement.
A hardworking, diligent and meticulous man, Dixon was known for his generosity and his heart for helping others. He contributed to the success and livelihood of many family members and friends. He touched so many lives, was kind to a fault, soft-spoken and truly had a heart of gold. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed travelling and was a fan of the sport of cricket. He was also well known for his hearty laughter and constant desire to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.
He leaves behind his sister, nieces, nephews and dear friends who loved, respected, and cared for him during his illness.
We trust that he is resting in the Lord as Scripture reminds us: "For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands." 2 Corinthians 5:1
May his memories always be a blessing, and may the Lord wrap him in His everlasting arms as he rests in peace, until we meet again.
