IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George S.
Garcia Sr.
December 30, 1957 – July 20, 2023
In loving memory of George S. Garcia Sr., affectionately known as "Grandpa," who peacefully passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 65 in Sugarland, TX. Throughout his life, George showed immense courage in confronting serious medical challenges with a radiant smile, emerging as a true hero who remained resilient until the very end.
George was born on December 30, 1957, in Weslaco, TX, to his parents Pilar Garcia Sr. and Delicia Sierra Garcia. He is now reunited with them in the afterlife, along with other beloved relatives who have passed before him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his devoted wife of 42 years, Rosemary Reyna Garcia, as well as his loving children Celinda, Denise, George Jr., and Orlando. He was also a proud father-in-law to Arthur Rodriguez Sr. and Robert Anderson Jr. Grandpa's heart was filled with joy by his beloved grandchildren: Jonathan, Jayson, Victor, Madysen, Jorrdan, and Arthur Jr, and his beloved dog Astro "Shorté". In addition to his immediate family, George had numerous self-adoptive children and grandchildren whom he adored. He is also survived by his sister Ursula G. Villarreal, brothers Herminio, Pilar Jr., Oscar, and Jaime. Growing up, George, also helped raise, along with his parents, his nieces Marisol V. Guerra and Rosalinda V. Uresti. He is also survived by a host of nieces, and nephews.
George's love story began in Edcouch, TX, where he met the love of his life, Rosemary, fondly calling her "Guera." They exchanged vows on September 3, 1982, in Uvalde, TX, as he worked as Migrant Labor worker before settling in Stafford, TX, where they created a loving home for their family. Over the years, George held various jobs, including Migrant Labor worker, Bus driver, Truck Driver, Mechanic, and Pump Machinist, always finding ways to lend a helping hand to others. His selflessness extended to volunteering for numerous organizations within the Stafford schools and community.
A true Jack-of-all-Trades, there was little that George couldn't fix. He dedicated years of service to his job at Flowserve for over 20 years, retiring in August 2019. Beyond work, his heart belonged to his family. Whether cheering on his grandsons during their sports events or supporting his only granddaughter in various school plays and marching band performances and anticipating the arrival of his newest grandchild, George treasured every moment spent with them. During football season, he could always be found in front of the TV, passionately cheering on his beloved Houston Texans. His pride in being a Houston Texan was boundless.
George S. Garcia Sr. will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His absence will be deeply felt, and his memory will be cherished with profound love and fondness. May he rest in peace, knowing the impact he made on the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
