The time has come to celebrate the life of Gavin William Melchor, a soul so full of love, energy, and kindness. Gavin had a heart that made everyone feel safe and valued. His infectious spirit and unwavering respect for others left an unforgettable mark on those who knew him. His presence was a source of joy, adventure, and warmth. Smile like Gavin—just as he did every day.

Gavin loved making music, rapping, and playing video games. Whether he was at a concert, working on cars, or enjoying sports, he embraced every moment. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends. He worked at Yumi Ice Cream, where he brought his hard work ethic dedication and positive energy to everything he did.

Gavin was preceded in death by his grandfather Guillermo Bernal and his Greatgrand parents Efrain and Zapopan Melchor. He is survived by his loving parents Ericka Melchor and John Christopher Melchor, his siblings Christopher "Lil Chris" Melchor, Caitlyn Goins, Christa Melchor, and his twin sister Natalia Melchor, and his beloved niece Nova Roze Miller.

His grandmothers Francisca Menchaca and Delia Melchor held a special place in his heart.

Gavin was deeply loved by his aunts and uncles: Diana and Juan Guerrero, Kimberly Melchor, Karen and Joe Mikulski, Juan "Wero" and Monica Bernal, David and Lisa Bernal, Gerardo "Chino" Bernal, James Menchaca, Enrique and Ashley Luviano, Jesus Renovato (Chuy); and his  brothers-in-law Estevan Ramirez and Vance Miller.

His cousins, who shared countless memories with him, include: Adriana Bernal, Daisy and Thali Guerrero, Jacob, Julianna "Julie" and Jillian "Jilly" Mikulski, Savannah Baumgardner, Jordan, Maiya, Jazzlyn, Makayla, Kylie and Mariah Luviano, Leticia "Letty," Jessica, David Jr. "DJ," and Desiree Bernal, Briana Bernal, Jaylen, Jay Anthony and Khloe Menchaca, Julian "Juju" Garcia, Ava Chanel Jones, Jadyn Robinson, and Christian Hollins, Jacqueline Renovato, Andrea and Juanito Bernal, Jupiter, Phoenix, and Haylee.

Though Gavin left us too soon, his light, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Smile like Gavin.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2p.m. - 8p.m. service 5p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Rd. Houston, Texas 77075
