Frances Gamboa Foley of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the age of 84. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend whose greatest treasure in life was the people she loved. Her happiest days were those spent surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and the simple moments that become the memories we hold closest to our hearts.

She found a special kind of peace at the beach. Frances loved watching the sun slowly disappear into the horizon and gazing up at the moon and stars. Those beautiful moments reflected something about her—she knew how to appreciate the beauty in life and the precious gift of simply being together.

Frances was deeply proud of her children and grandchildren. Their accomplishments brought her tremendous joy, and her love for them was unconditional and everlasting. She leaves each of them with memories, lessons, laughter, and a lifetime of love that will continue to live on through them.

Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Olivia Ruiz Escalon; her daughter, Nancy Gamboa Abrams; her son, Christopher Lee Gamboa; and her nephew, Gabriel Andrew Gamboa.

She leaves behind a beautiful family and a legacy of love. Frances is survived by her beloved brother, Tony Longoria; her sister, Gloria Hobgood, and her husband, Robert Hobgood; her daughters, Samantha Rodriguez Gamboa and Elizabeth Ann Gomez and her husband, Gabriel Gomez; and her grandchildren, Jonathan Lee Gomez; Olivia Nicole Collins-Rodriguez and her spouse, Kase Collins; Carla Gamboa-Miguel; Layla Isabel Rodriguez and her fiancé, Rob Riveria; and Samuel David Rodriguez and his fiancée, Andrea Guerrero. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Frances’ life on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 5:30 pm, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 8706 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, Texas 77075. This celebration will be a time to remember Frances with love, share stories and cherished memories, laugh together, and honor the beautiful life she lived. Following the celebration, we invite everyone to stay and join us in fellowship over a warm meal served at the facility.
