Enriqueta Ortiz López passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Born on July 15, 1933, she was known for her warmth, generosity, her love for her Lord Jesus Christ, and the undeniably loving and joyful spirit she brought into the world.

Her beloved children will lovingly remember Enriqueta, Jesse W. Villarreal and wife, Vicky, Enrique Villarreal and wife, Sandra, Sandy Morales, wife of the late Steve Morales, and Daniel Villarreal. She is predeceased by her husband, Jesse V. López, her sister, Eva Diaz, and her brother, Francisco Ortiz. She is survived by her older sister, Leonila Vasquez, and by the father of their children, Enrique G. Villarreal, and his wife, Helen. She had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well, and many other loved ones throughout her life. With a large family tree, consisting of both blood ties and bonds from the heart, Enriqueta's love was as wide as it was deep and was cherished deeply by many.

Among Enriqueta's most significant accomplishments was raising her four children, whom she held as her pride and joy. She also supported her husband as he pastored a local church in San Antonio, Texas. When she and her husband moved to Alvin, Texas, they spent their last years together supporting various pastors within the local community. She entertained others by sharing her life stories with laughter and a solid resolve that God was her driving force in her life. She shared the Gospel and spent her life supporting her family, serving, and helping others.  Amidst the challenges life brought her way, Enriqueta never wavered in her compassion for others and her faith in God. Her legacy is one of unyielding humor and compassion for others. Her life served as a testament to her faith, "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." — Philippians 1:21

A Celebration of Life for Enriqueta will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026.  The family will receive guests at 6 pm with a service beginning at 7 pm at Emmanuel Worship Center. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, beginning at 10 am at Emmanuel Worship Center, Alvin, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas. Those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate her life are welcome. Enriqueta's loss is deeply felt by her immense family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on. She will sadly be missed by those whose lives were touched by her inspiration, strength, resilience, and generosity.
