Obituary

Efren Camarillo, 72, entered into the presence of God on February 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

He was born on April 13, 1953, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Efren Camarillo and Rosa Maria Gomez. Through hard work and sacrifice, he built a life rooted in love, integrity, and unwavering faith.

A devoted husband, he shared nearly 45 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maria Alma Sierra. Their marriage was a testimony of commitment, partnership, and enduring devotion. With courage and determination, in 1991, they immigrated to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a brighter future for their children. United in faith and vision, they poured themselves into their family, church, and community. What they built was not measured in material things, but in values of unmatchable faith, uplifting prayer, unconditional love, unbreakable unity, unrelenting service, and unyielding strength.

He was an extraordinary father to Janet Sierra, Fabiola, Sierra, Jennifer Chandler, Lynette Polleck, and Efren Camarillo, Jr. Leading not only with words but through example. He instilled in his children the importance of faith, respect, hard work, and perseverance. As a grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and great-grandfather to one, he delighted in sharing wisdom, encouragement, guidance, and simply being present. His grandchildren were among his greatest joys and proudest blessings. They see

A bilingual educator, Efren Camarillo, dedicated his life to shaping young minds. He believed education was a pathway to opportunity and transformation, and he tirelessly encouraged his students to pursue excellence with character. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, touching countless lives.

He was also an extraordinarily talented, self-taught guitarist. Music was not simply a hobby; it was a gift he cultivated with dedication and humility. He used his talent to serve the Lord, uplift his church, and pour into others. Whether playing during worship or filling a room with familiar melodies, his music brought comfort, joy, and connection. Through his guitar, he ministered to hearts and strengthened faith. More significantly, his family was blessed to have him at as many birthday celebrations possible.

Faith was the cornerstone of his life. Efren was a faithful servant of the Lord and a devoted deacon and member of Iglesia Hispana Bautista Buena Tierra. His life was a living testimony of gratitude and steadfast belief reflecting Christ's love through quiet acts of kindness, leadership, and humility. His faith shaped his character and left a lasting spiritual legacy for generations to come.

He is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor his life by living out the values he instilled in them.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 1:00 – 5:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Iglesia Hispana Bautista Buena Tierra in Pasadena, Texas.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing he is at peace. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will never fade.
