Donald Marcus Cathey. Born June 28 th, 1951 in Houston, TX and died February 11 th, 2026 in South Houston, TX, with his wife, sister and daughter by his side. He was a hardworking man that tried his best to do right by all around him. God called him home way too soon.

Don is survived by his wife Rennie Cathey, Son, Dwayne Cathey and wife, Usarla Flores. Daughter, Cynthia Nunez, husband, Joe Nunez and granddaughter, Annabella Nunez. Brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Gloria Wark. Sister Ethel Reed Wind and sister Karen Bates.

Don was not a man of many words but if you did get him going you would have enjoyed your conversation. A man with a very large heart for all those in his life. He was always just a phone call away. Don was able to fix almost anything and would help anyone in need of help. Don worked for the Department of Transportation for 44 years, doing just that, helping people. He did this in everyday life and for a living. This made him the great dad, paw paw, husband, brother, uncle and friend that he was.

He will truly be missed.
