April Rene Parker
April 1, 1977 - July 14, 2023

Dear Mommy,

I can't even believe I'm actually having to do this. I know when I look in the sky you are there. I miss you like crazy already! You were an amazing woman! I promise you will forever live through me! We will meet again. This isn't goodbye, but I will see you later. I love you so much, Lady!

Love,

Your Daughter Destiny

Obituary

April loved the Lord. She got daily scriptures on her phone and would forward them to family and friends and post them on her Facebook page.

She had many friends and loved them all. If someone was sick or going through a difficult time, she would give them encouragement even if she was sick.

She loved to travel, especially with her dear friend Gregg. She traveled to Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Maine, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, California, Utah, Wyoming, and Arkansas. She even took her grandson, Kyree, on a road trip to Disney World in Florida. She called it "making memories".

She loved her family fiercely.

She loved her two cats. "I Feel You" and "Fu Man Chew". She loved all animals and would watch documentaries about them.

April loved looking at the stars. She had an app that identified different constellations. She would often take her grandson outside at night to show him the moon or different stars.

April was a sports fanatic. She especially loved the hometown teams: the Rockets, Astros, & Texans. She didn't like to be bothered during the games and she would often yell at the T.V. like they could hear her.

April loved taking her mother's fudge to her friends during the holidays. She would come in the house and say "So-and-so is here, I need a container of fudge", so her mother had to keep plenty on hand.

April could cuss like a sailor but if children were present, she would say "Shish Kabob!" and "Firecrackers!"

Predeceased by her father Charles Wayne Parker; brother Alvin Dwayne Parker & sister Linda Diane Shirley.

Survived by daughter Destiny Hughes; grandsons Kyree Pipkins and Kaycen Pipkins; mother Wilma Parker; sister Vanessa Sellers; many cousins, nieces, nephews; special friends Roxanne and Gregory; and many friends.
