Obituary

Anthony Michael Richardson, age 54, of Houston, Texas passed away at Methodist northwest hospital on 01/31/2023. Anthony was born in Princes Town on the Island of Trinidad in the West Indies on 04/10/1968 to his mother, Muriel and his father, Kenneth Richardson.

Anthony attended Princes Town Primary School after which he went to Saint Madeleine's Junior Secondary School, then on to Princes Town Senior Comprehensive School and Finally Servol Trade school, where he trained as a Mechanic.

He worked as a mechanic contractor with Amoco Oil company on the offshore oil Platform. He relocated to Toronto Canada, and while there, he worked as an auto mechanic for a car dealership. He then moved to Houston Texas, he became a Self-employed mechanic/Handyman/job coordinator.

He loved fishing with a passion and would go as often as he could. Even when his eyesight was failing his younger cousins Lionel Junior and Pierre who he considered brothers, would take him with them because they knew how much he enjoyed fishing.

He liked talking on the CB radio to people back in Trinidad and around the country. He would always be involved in the planning and preparation of the food with his mother when they would go out with his father and grandmother to feed the homeless people in downtown Houston.

He enjoyed working on cars and was the go-to guy when people were stranded. When he still had the ability to drive, he would go out and fix or tow the vehicle to a safe place. Later, when his health started failing, he still had the ability to diagnose and coordinate with the right people to get the job done.

Anthony suffered several complications due to health issues over the past few years including diabetes, declining eyesight, kidney failure, bacterial infection, and amputation. He succumbed to organ failure after a couple of bouts with covid-19. Anthony was one of the strongest people I have known thus far in my lifetime. He went through multiple procedures and always managed to bounce back. He was definitely a fighter!

He had the biggest heart, which may have been his biggest fault. He made some mistakes and exercised poor judgment during his life, but his heart was always in the right place. He never felt malice or ill will toward anyone, and even as he made those missteps, his intentions were always good in that he was not thinking about himself but rather the people he loved the most, his family. The passing of his mother and grandmother had a profound effect on him. He would talk about them often. It was known that he was not to be disturbed when he went to his room and put on a playlist with songs about mothers with the volume turned way up. He was a mama's boy who wished he could have done so much more for her while she was still with us.

Anthony is survived by his loving father, Apostle Kenneth Richardson, sisters Dynees Richardson and Alicia Charles, brothers Ian and Sherwin Richardson, nephews Randall and Rodell Duff, Nieces Delicia Duff, Candice Cheeks, Koisha Beale, Jazmyn and Zoe Richardson, Grand nephews Ryan and Rashawn Cheeks, Ryder Patrick Duff, Grand Niece Alana Cheeks and predeceased by his mother Muriel Joslyn Richardson, whom he loved dearly!
