IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agapito Medellin
03/10/1953 - 08/06/2024
March 10, 1953
Agapito Medellin, 71, native of Nadadores, Coahuila, born on March 10, 1953, entered eternal rest on August 6, 2024, when the celestial heavens opened their gates to welcome our beloved Agapito.
In pursuit of a better life, Agapito'slate mother, Enedina Ontiveros, and his siblings, Roberto, Maruca, Rosa, Juan, and Dora, courageously decided to come to the U.S. as migrant farm workers. The young family often followed the harvest and moved from city to city until finally settling in San Antonio, Texas, during Mr. Medellin's teenage years.
Agapitowas reborn in spirit in Pasadena, Texas, where he spent most of his adult life with his loving family and wife of 45 years, Brenda Medellin, by his side. He led a life of hard work and an unwavering commitment to his family and faith.
Starting as a diesel mechanic, Agapito excelled in his profession due to his ability to understand and fix things. His natural talent for problem-solving and recognizing potential sparked his entrepreneurial spirit, leading him to become a heavy-duty dump truck owner-operator, transporting construction materials to work sites. In many ways, this work mirrored his life's mission—just as he laid the foundation for new roads and buildings, Fito also laid a strong foundation of faith and servitude and lived his faith and values each day. In his autumn years, he embraced a life of service, devoting himself to his church and community, making him a respected ELIM Church member.
Agapito'slove for Christian music brought him great joy. He loved singing and playing the guitar and even created a suitcase PA system allowing him to travel to sing at church events or family gatherings - where he enjoyed spending time with those he loved most. One of his many gifts was his ability to bring joy and laughter into the lives of others.
Everywhere he went, he earned a friend. He had a heart of gold and always demonstrated humility. He was always ready to help those in need, whether fixing a neighbor's car or a friend's appliance or taking care of his grandchildren. His kindness was ever-present, and he always lent a hand to all.
Agapito exemplified strength, humor, and unwavering devotion to God. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Agapitoleaves behind his wife, Brenda; his daughter, Christella Peters; sons Abel and Anthony Medellin; eight grandchildren, Rudy, Angel, Joseph, Celine, Xavier, Alex, Maya, and Marco; and seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Jayden, Destiny, Aviana, Cade, Casen, Silas; and five siblings, Roberto, Juan, Rosa, Maruca, and Dora, and all of their family members.
His beloved mother preceded him in departure. Her guidance and love shaped the man he became.
A service honoring Agapito'slife will be held at ELIM Church, 3200 S. Richey St., Houston, TX 77017, August 12, 2024.
